J.R. Floyd is a New York-based Educator with over 20 years of teaching experience with grades 5-12 in general and special education, adjunct and adult continuing education. Inspirational mentor, public speaker and college writing consultant. J. R. is the winner of the Jacob A. Weiser Playwright CUNY Award and the author of The Waiting Game and A Different Flavor of Love. As a passionate lover of classical music, she is a member of the BMCC Downtown Chorus and has performed at Carnegie Hall. J. R. is the creator of the YouTube channel and Podcast Conversations with J.R. Floyd.
