J.R. Floyd is a highly experienced New York-based educator with over two decades of experience teaching general and special education to students in grades 5-12, as well as in adult continuing education. She is a versatile professional, also working as a public speaker and college writing consultant.

Academically accomplished, J.R. holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, a Master of Education (MSEd.), and certifications in TESOL/TEFL.

Her creative pursuits include being an award-winning playwright—the winner of the prestigious Jacob A. Weiser Playwright CUNY Award—and a published author of the books The Waiting Game and A Different Flavor of Love.

A dedicated lover of classical music, J.R. is a member of the BMCC Downtown Chorus and has performed at Carnegie Hall. She continues to engage audiences as the
